As a special education teacher, my teaching philosophy centers around the principles of differentiation, inclusion, collaboration, and fostering positive relationships with my students based on trust and understanding. I firmly believe in tailoring instruction to meet the unique needs and abilities of every student, ensuring they have equal access to learning opportunities. Inclusive practices are at the heart of my approach, striving to create a classroom environment that celebrates diversity and promotes a sense of belonging for all.
My educational journey began at Indian River State College and ended in earning a Teaching Certification in Exceptional Student Education (K-12) with endorsements in ESOL and Reading (K-5). After earning my Masters in Exceptional Student Education with an Autism Endorsement at FIU in July 2024, I am equipped with the expertise to foster strong academic skills in all academic areas among students of various age groups as well as recognize the importance of catering to limited English language learners.
My work experience in education includes leading a VPK classroom at St. James Christian Academy from 2010-2013. After obtaining my RBT credentials in 2013, I became a paraprofessional at The Learning Academy (grades 6-12). In 2017, I taught abroad in Melbourne, Australia at Eastern Ranges Middle School. Upon my return to Florida in 2018, I have been lead teacher in a ESE Standard Diploma classroom with The Learning Academy at the Els Center of Excellence. I also have experience with multiple homeschool and private tutoring clients during afterschool and weekend hours.
